How does Durak wake me up?
It compares your phone’s location with your chosen destination. The alarm triggers when you enter the distance you set. It works by straight-line distance to the destination, not by time.
Which cities and transport types are supported?
İzmir has ESHOT, İZBAN and İzdeniz data; Ankara has EGO buses, Metro, ANKARAY and Başkentray. You can also choose a destination by address. Coverage and coordinate freshness vary by route.
Does it work when my phone is locked?
An active journey continues tracking with the necessary background location and notification permissions. Allow location access “Always”, keep notification sounds on and don’t force-close the app. Battery management varies by device; test it before your first journey.
Can I use it without internet?
You can open saved journeys and transit data already downloaded to your device offline. GPS does not need mobile internet, but address search, the first data download and current Ankara EGO stop sequences require an internet connection.
Will the alarm work on the metro or in a tunnel?
GPS reception can be lost underground. A distance alarm may not trigger where location updates are unavailable. Don’t rely solely on Durak on routes with tunnels; also follow your journey and stop announcements.
What happens in Silent or Focus mode?
On iPhone, standard system notifications do not override Silent or Focus mode. Alarm sound and vibration depend on your phone’s permissions and settings. Before travelling, try the 10-second alarm test with your phone locked, too.
Can I download Durak now?
The iOS version is currently on TestFlight. Beta access is by invitation; email info@getdurak.com for details. The Android app is in development and does not yet have a public Google Play link. See the beta section below for current information.
